The World Chess Cabinet is a chess set designed as a wooden cabinet with a removable lid, a full board, storage space, and World Chess Championship pieces. The cabinet has been expertly hand-crafted from walnut and maple, key materials for chess products.

Design by internationally renowned Pentagram designer and architect Daniel Weil, these pieces are based on the proportions of classical Greek architecture and the classic Staunton design to make a set that is both distinctive and traditional.

Unique design introduced for the 2013 Tournament Used in all top official FIDE tournaments including the World Chess Championship and as you would expect the pieces are very finely finished. Each set comes in a presentation box with individual pieces hand packed and secured inside. Includes 1 additional Queen per side, for easy Pawn Promotion.

The Cabinet will become an instant conversation piece and works great for both home and office use. Side panels are black, and the World Chess logo is lasered onto the side panels. The storage compartment is made of ashwood black painted veneer.

The cabinet chess board is made of a high-quality veneer that is resistible to moisture and keeps perfect shape for decades. The removable lid lets you play on the chessboard itself or move the board around your house and office.

The cabinet has been designed by Daniel Weil, the main design force behind the World Chess Championship pieces. This product has been inspired by the Wall Street Journal, a business publication: WSJ reporters keep an ongoing game in their editorial space, and World Chess has designed a chess cabinet perfect for this kind of chess play.

The board size is 44x44 cm and squares are 5x5 cm.
